The Mets weren’t the only local team to deal with rain on Sunday.
The Knicks’ game against the Raptors was delayed for several minutes with 3:58 left in the third quarter after water dripped from the ceiling at Madison Square Garden.
A spokesman for the team said there was a ‘small drop of rain’ from the ceiling, but it had been ‘fixed’.
Players from both teams were shown looking up at the ceiling during the 14-minute delay, while a staffer mopped up the water with a towel.
After play resumed, the staffer cleared the area inside the Knicks’ defensive basket key after each possession in Toronto.
A few hours earlier, the Mets suspended their game against the Marlins after a 2 hour and 10 minute rain delay.
Much to the dismay of Mets-starting pitcher Marcus Stroman, the teams tried to play through the rain for seven minutes before it was eventually called off.
