The Oaks Mall posted a statement on Twitter Tuesday: “We do not endorse this irresponsible – but constitutionally protected – peaceful protest event that is being planned. We share your concerns and have notified the sheriff’s office. We have also contacted the event. planner to ask that they don’t use The Oaks as a venue. “
The mall is located in Ventura County, part of the Southern California region, a group of counties under a state-mandated housing mandate caused by low ICU capacity. Meetings are prohibited, with the exception of worship and political expression. The state is reporting more than 1.9 million cases and continues to rise, with tens of thousands of new cases being added daily.
Cameron, best known for his role as Mike Seaver on the long-running ABC sitcom “Growing Pains,” linked his efforts with Sing it Louder USA.
“Do you feel like you’re done with all the mandates telling you how many people you can have at home or how to eat or how you can’t sing?” Houston Pastor Steve Riggle said on the group’s website, encouraging people to get together and sing as their form of protest against “government tyrants trying to control our lives.”
Last week, Cameron’s “Growing Pains” coast and on-screen sister, actress Tracey Gold, voiced concern by referring to their show characters in a tweet.
‘Just contact my dear brother Mike. @ KirkCameron As your more intelligent sister I want you to know I disapprove. I’m worried about your brother AND your family. Wear a mask. Stay at home. Sing later. ‘
