Killer whales attack fishing boat off the coast of Spain

The years of aggression of orca pods against boats off the coast of Spain and Portugal continues unabated.

Last October, there were 33 bizarre “revenge” attacks by orcas off the coast of Spain and Portugal and it seems they are not ready yet.

A video taken by fishermen in the Straits of Gibralter on April 3 shows the men bravely fighting a group of angry marine mammals as they attack the boat and break the rudder.

In a video published by The Daily Mail, the captain, Antonio Busse, 40, is seen fighting the orcas with a pole while yelling at them to “piss off!” “Mama Mia!” and “get off the (squeaking) boat!”

Other crew members throw objects into the water to try to scare away the angry group of four, but to no avail, and a large killer whale may swim under the boat, causing the crew to scream in fear. Another video shows the orcas circling the boat threateningly and breaking the nearby surface.

Initially, the crew heard “a strange noise and rushed to the top of the ship,” thinking they might have hit a container – but “soon realized that orcas were playing around the ship, trying to hit it,” said Captain Busse. . The Real Press.

The orcas eventually managed to break the rudder after hitting it repeatedly.

The orcas eventually left after a torch was lit, successfully chasing the orcas away.

While killer whales in other parts of the world usually leave boats alone, over the past year their aggression has increased in this part of the world, confusing scientists.
