Kendall Jenner said on Friday that her life isn’t “as perfect as it seems,” after fans compared themselves to her photos from a SKIMS campaign.
Earlier that day, the 25-year-old supermodel shared behind-the-scenes photos and videos from her SKIMS “Fits Everybody” Valentine’s Day campaign with sisters Kim Kardashian West and Kylie Jenner.
In the photos she posted to Instagram, Kendall was wearing bright red lingerie and clear high heels.
The photos, most notably one of Kendall standing upright in a mirror selfie, circulated on Twitter and the model’s name started trending. While many people complimented the model’s appearance, others said the photos made them feel insecure.
One fan tweeted, “I have 99 problems and it looks like Kendall Jenner would solve them all.”
The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star quote tweeted the message, replying, “I am extremely lucky. I appreciate everything I have. But I want you to know I have bad days too and hear from you!”
She continued, “You are beautiful just the way you are !!! it’s not always as perfect as it seems.”
Another fan replied with a selfie to Kendall’s tweet, writing, “My confidence after Kenny J says she’s having bad days too,” with charting emojis upward.
The model responded by writing “YESSSS MA’AM” with fire emojis.
Kendall, who has been a model since she was 15, spoke in a 2019 interview with the Telegraph about feeling insecure about her body shape growing up. She said she felt like an outcast if she was built differently from her sisters.
“My sisters have a lot more curves than I do,” she explained.
She continued: “They have breasts and I have no breasts. Growing up as a little twig girl, I saw my sisters and always thought, ‘Oh no, should I be more sexy like them?’ I almost felt like I just didn’t fit in for part of my life. “
Now that she’s older, Kendall says she’s starting to appreciate that she has “a different vibe for everyone.”
‘I like to do different things. And that’s okay, ”she said.
Later that year she spoke about her favorite and least favorite body parts in an ad for SKIMS.
“My favorite body part is my height,” she said, and continued, “Sometimes I’m aware of my broad shoulders.”
