Kelsey Grammar stars as an aging 1970s rock star who wants to get his life back on track The space in between, a new coming-of-age movie from Paramount. The trailer for the film was released Monday and will hit theaters on April 23, with a video-on-demand and digital release on June 15.
Set in Los Angeles in the 1990s, The space in between follows a young music label executive named Charlie Porter (Jackson White), whose dreams of breaking out of the mailroom led him to discover the story of Micky Adams (Grammar), a washed-up star who released his last great album two decades earlier. Micky is signed to the label Charlie works for, which has plans to drop Micky and his music once and for all, and Charlie is sent to the musician’s bizarre seaside mansion to force him out of the contract.
Things don’t go as planned: As shown in the trailer, Micky Charlie drugs with a psychedelic substance, convinced that the child is the key to his long-awaited artistic breakthrough, and an unlikely friendship develops between the two. What could go wrong?
The space in between will be directed by Rachel Winter, and also starring Julia Goldani Telles, Paris Jackson, Andy Daly and William Fichtner. The film features original music by Rivers Cuomo.
