Here are five observations of the Warriors 114-106 victory in New York on Tuesday night, moving them to 17-15 in the season.
1. Kelly Oubre is close by
You can deliver 42 great minutes and watch your work melt away in the last eight. The Warriors let that happen in Orlando. You can drag to a two-digit lead in 44 minutes and lose everything in the last four. The Warriors had let that happen in Charlotte.
Any positives that led to the Warriors’ late lead in New York would only remain relevant if they closed in the last 60 seconds, three higher. Another lost late lead would have turned this road trip from disappointment to disaster.
That’s what makes the next Kelly Oubre Jr. series arguably the most important of his first season with the Warriors.
