Keaten and Destin Wade, Four-Star Twins from Tennessee, Commit to Kentucky

Kentucky went to the Volunteer State to retrieve pledges from talented twin brothers.

Surrounded by friends and family at Summit High School just outside of Nashville, Destin Wade and Keaten Wade revealed they will go to the University of Kentucky and pick the Cats over Tennessee, Louisville and Virginia.

The brothers are each considered four star, top 300 prospects. Keaten Wade is the country’s 18th outside linebacker and number 156 overall. Destin Wade, a quarterback who amassed 1,509 rushing yards, 1,390 passing yards, and 37 combined touchdowns as a junior, is ranked by Rivals as the No. 23 ATH in the country.

In recent years, the Wildcats have had some very controversial fights with the Vols on the recruiting path and this is the UK’s biggest win yet. Steve Clinkscale was the main recruit for the Wades. By making the brothers their first grant offer, Coach Clink prevented Josh Heupel’s staff from gaining early momentum on the recruitment path.

It would be important to bring in just one of these talented players. By receiving commitments from the two talented brothers, the seven-man Kentucky class climbed eight places to No. 18 in the Rivals team rankings.

Keaten Wade is an explosive fringe defender who will thrive under Brad White’s tutelage. At 1.85 feet, 225 pounds, Keaten can become a difference maker in the SEC in Kentucky. His brother is not that big, but he does have a big arm. Whether in the pocket or on the run, Destin Wade has the tools to tear it up on Liam Coen’s attack, and his skills are versatile enough to play a wide receiver or defensive back for Mark Stoops.

It’s a great day for the Kentucky Football program that could turn into a great weekend if Kiyaunta Goodwin joins the Wade twins Saturday afternoon in the Wildcats 2022 recruitment class.
