Katie Holmes’ baby – daughter Suri Cruise – is 15.
The actress posted an Instagram tribute to her only child, who had her birthday on Sunday. Along with never-before-seen family photos, Holmes, who has been raising Suri solo since her stealth divorce in 2012 from ex-husband Tom Cruise, wrote: “Happy 15th birthday, sweetie! I love you !!!!!!!! don’t believe that you’re already 15! “
Among the beautiful black and white photos is one with a sleeping Suri in Holmes’ arms. Another shows mom and daughter in a super tight squeeze.
Suri’s birth in 2006 was a much-anticipated Hollywood moment due to the attention paid to her parents, who were then known as, yes, TomKat. Cruise, speaking of buying their own personal sonogram machine and the speculation that Holmes would have a “quiet birth” of Scientology, made it all intriguing.
When Suri was born, paparazzi camped around the clock outside the Hollywood estate in hopes of getting the first picture. That pix eventually came in Vanity Fair (“Yes, Suri, she’s our baby!” was the cover line) bit by Annie Leibovitz.
Suri remained one of the most photographed kids in the world after the headlines split. However, she settled into a distinctly more low-key life in NYC with Holmes – and the premium for paparazzi photos of famous kids has dropped significantly, not just because of social media, but also because the media has started to see how icky it is. .
Suri, who hasn’t been photographed with Cruise for years, sometimes accompanies Holmes to public events, usually basketball games, Broadway shows, or a fashion event.
And she makes the very rare appearance on her mom’s Instagram.
Last year, Holmes – who is in a relationship with restaurateur Emilio Vitolo Jr. from NYC – with Yahoo Entertainment on parenting during the pandemic.
It was recently announced that Holmes, through her manufacturing company, was opting The Watergate Girl: My Fight for Truth and Justice Against a Criminal President, the autobiography of former Watergate prosecutor Jill Wine-Banks. She will play the lead role and produce the film.
