‘People who cast her don’t know I’m her mom’: Kate Winslet says it’s ‘great’ that her actress daughter Mia Threapleton, 20, has ‘slipped under the radar’ in her career

Kate Winslet has spoken out about her daughter Mia’s acting career.

The actress, 45, who shares Mia with her first husband Jim Threapleton, appeared in Lorraine on Monday, setting out Mia’s career and explaining that having different surnames has allowed her to flourish on her own.

She said, “What’s great for her is that she has a different last name, so she slipped under the radar and the people who cast her didn’t know she was my daughter and that was obviously important to her self-esteem.”
