In a 2015 case, Karim Benzema will face trial for complicity in a blackmail case involving a video of sexual content
French footballer Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) will be tried for complicity in the blackmail case with a video with sexual content also to player Mathieu Valbuena, announced the prosecution of the court of Versailles on Thursday.
“The decision to take him to court is an absurd and unfair cruelty,” said the player’s lawyer, Sylvain Cormier, to Efe, for whom “Benzema has nothing to blame for himself in this summary.”
The case dates back to 2015, when two men who had an allegedly intimate video of Valbuena with his wife attempted to blackmail him and, given his refusal, contacted a childhood friend of Benzema in order to obtain the mediation of the Madridista, who with it victim spoke during a concentration of the French team.
