Kanye West agrees with Kim Kardashian West that they should have joint custody of their four children and that none of them need marital support, according to new divorce documents.
West’s attorneys filed their response to the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday to Kardashian West’s divorce filing seven weeks earlier, beginning the process of ending their 6 1/2 year marriage.
West’s application was virtually identical to Kardashian West’s original petition, agreeing that the marriage would end after irreconcilable differences and that the two should share custody of their children: North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3 years old and Psalm, which will be 2 next month.
And like the Kardashian West filing, West is calling for the court’s right to award partner support to either person be lifted.
According to Kardashian West’s February 19 petition, the two have a prenuptial agreement and, he says, kept their properties separate during the marriage.
The divorce filings put an end to one of the most followed celebrity marriages in decades, between 40-year-old reality TV superstar Kardashian West and 43-year-old rap and fashion mogul West.
It was West’s first marriage and Kardashian West’s third, which has not asked the court to change her name back to just Kardashian, although she can still do that during divorce proceedings.
