Justin Thomas loses sponsorship from Ralph Lauren after using anti-gay statements

Justin Thomas has lost a sponsorship with Ralph Lauren after he was caught using an anti-gay defamation during the PGA Tournament of Champions in Kapalua, Hawaii last weekend.

Sports broadcasters recorded the moment when the 27-year-old said “f — t” to himself after missing a putt in the third round of the January 9 tournament.

Thomas apologized that same day, saying his foul language was “no excuse.”

Ralph Lauren said Friday that it was “discouraged” by Thomas’ language and it was sever ties with the PGA golfer.

“We are discouraged by Mr. Thomas’s recent language, which is completely contrary to our values,” the fashion company said in a statement.

“As we make the decision, we hope that Mr. Thomas will do the hard and necessary work to work with us again – really research this incident, learn, grow and ultimately use his platform to promote inclusion,” the company continued.

Thomas has been with Ralph Lauren since 2013 and was reportedly under contract until 2021, ESPN reported.
