Justin Bieber says ‘lack of confidence’ made Hailey Baldwin’s first year of marriage ‘really difficult’

Justin Bieber has shared how difficult his first year of marriage with his wife, Hailey Baldwin, was.

The 27-year-old singer told GQ magazine that it was “very difficult” because he felt like he was “laying on eggs”.

“The first year of marriage was really tough, because there was a lot, back to the trauma stuff,” explained Bieber, referring to his years as a child superstar. ‘There was just a lack of confidence. There were all these things you don’t want to admit to the person you’re with because it’s scary. ‘

“You don’t want to scare them off by saying, ‘I’m scared’,” he admitted.

Bieber and Baldwin were married in a New York City courthouse in September 2018 and had a larger ceremony in South Carolina a year later. He was 24 years old at the time, while the model was 21.

In 2021, the couple will be on a healthier path by “creating these moments for us as a couple, as a family, to build these memories.”

“It’s wonderful that we have that to look forward to. I never had that to look forward to in my life,” explained Bieber. “My family life was unstable. My family life didn’t exist. I didn’t have a partner of mine. I didn’t have someone to love. I didn’t have someone to flow into. But now I have.”

Bieber thanks his relationship and his faith for helping him get rid of his out-of-control child star ego.

“To get everyone to say how good you are, how incredible you are? You just start believing that stuff. And ego starts. And that’s where insecurities come in. And then you start treating people in a certain way. and feeling superior and higher. people. Bieber went through a period of drinking, drugs and arrests. He said he “lost control of my vision of my career”.

“I thought all the success would make up for it. And so the drugs were a narcotic for me to just get through,” he continued.

The Grammy nominee added, “Then one day you wake up and your relationships are blown up and you’re unhappy and you have all this success in the world, but you’re just thinking, ‘Well, what’s this worth if I still feel empty inside? ”

Bieber hopes that telling his truth can help other people who are struggling. ‘You can do it. You are valuable. Whatever you say or believe about yourself is not necessarily true. It’s just not true, ”he said.

The musician feels like he has a second chance at a happy, fulfilled life.

“I have a woman that I adore who makes me feel comforted. I feel safe. I feel that my relationship with God is wonderful. I have an outpouring of love that I want to share with people,” he said . “It’s just rewarding to be everything you were meant to be. I believe at this point in my life I am right where I should be, doing what I believe God wants me to do.
