Juan Guillermo Cuadrado is compared to Garrincha by Paolo Montero – International Football – Sports

Juan Guillermo Cuadrado is still the Colombian football player of the moment. The one who belongs to the Italian elite and stands out from now to now, with his game with Juventus.

The player, who has a great season, collects the best accolades in every round of Serie A. But now he received a special compliment from a Juventus symbol, former Uruguayan defender Paolo Montero.

Montero, invited to analyze the Turin club news, spoke in a live broadcast on the Juve channel about the DT Andrea Pirlo and the club’s icons.

When asked about Cuadrado, he compared him to Garrincha, a famous Brazilian footballer who marked an era in his country’s national team, with two world titles, and in clubs like Botafogo, Corinthians and even Junior de Barranquilla.

“He makes more of a difference than Cristiano Ronaldo. He looks like Garricha: he’s impressive,” said Montero, who played for Juventus between 1996 and 2005 and is now a coach.

Cuadrado stands out for his skills, but in recent years he has grown in his collective game, playing as a right back. He has also become a luxury assistant in Calcio, Italy.

Next Tuesday, Cuadrado will play in the semi-final of the Italian Cup, looking for a place in the final, against Inter, with a 1-2 advantage in the first leg.
