The 38-year-old chose the location because they love the area and “really want to get married on the water.”

Moody, 29, told People: ‘Jennifer grew up on the beach and there is something so calming and healing about the ocean. We let a boat “sail away” after we tie the knot. ‘

They brought some ‘western flair’ to the beach wedding, adding, ‘It’s a cowboy / cowgirl themed wedding. Everyone will wear boots and hats. ‘

Wayne amazed in a tailored dress by Nashville designer Tyler Minor: ‘The dress is made of crepe chiffon. It’s a very classic style with a bit of bohemian and western flair. ‘

Moody wore a special Minor animal hide jacket with jeans and a black stetson.

The bride wore her grandmother Pilar Pallete’s grandfather John Wayne’s engagement ring for her ‘something blue’.

She said, ‘On their 10th anniversary, he matched the diamond and had it reset in a floral setting. Austin used his grandmother’s diamonds to make an engagement ring for me [made with help from my best friend’s mom, Dobrila Pintar,] also in floriculture. So I bought all the ladies in the floral birth month earrings from Local Eclectic to keep the theme. ‘

The ceremony was followed by an informal reception with food provided by Cowgirl Kitchen, as well as Duke bourbon and Caymus wine.

Wayne and her groom opted for a ‘very small’ wedding, with less than 20 guests, made up of immediate family and close friends.

It comes after the bride and Runaway Jane member overcame her own battle with COVID-19 in early 2020.

They said, ‘We take COVID very seriously and have requested that all guests have a recent COVID test before attending. We hold the ceremony outside with plenty of room for social distance. ‘

The newlyweds plan to celebrate with all their loved ones when it is safer, with “ a big party in Nashville, ” where they live.

They announced their engagement on Instagram on December 30 as she showed off her rock and wrote, ‘Happy birthday to the man I can spend the rest of my life with !!! Love you @theaustinmoody. I can’t wait to celebrate the day with you … ‘

Wayne and Moody ‘couldn’t wait a second longer’ to get married, just six months after they first started dating.

They got back together five years after they first met, when her bandmate Natalie Stovall texted her: “ Austin found a dog that had been left on the highway. He knew Natalie, and he knew she loved dogs. So he sent the picture of the dog to Natalie, and Natalie said, “Oh, Jen is saving dogs … we have to send it to Jen.” The rest is history! ‘
