John Travolta has an extra special dance partner in a new Super Bowl commercial: his 20-year-old daughter Ella.
The pair are part of a star-studded group – which also includes Martha Stewart, actors Leslie David Baker and Carl Weathers, NASCAR driver Kyle Busch and fitness instructor Emma Lovewell – in Scotts Miracle-Gro’s first-ever Super Bowl ad, which is about how important the backyard in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
And while there are many cool things – like the domestic doyenne Stewart, who says the brands ‘giveaways touted in the ad could land winners their dream garden:’ Just like mine. You know, just no better than mine ”as she tended her tomatoes in overalls – father and daughter’s bite was particularly sweet. The iconic dancer from Fat, Pulp Fiction and Saturday night fever, 66, set up a tripod to record himself dancing in the garden while Ella told him he was doing it wrong.
“Daddy, it’s the red one,” she said.
“I know,” he replied, picking up the phone.
“The Others red, ”she repeated.
“I know,” he repeated.
The two then begin the “Sunday Best” TikTok dance, with “neighbor” Stewart saying, “He’s still got it.”
At the end, Baker – grilling in his garden – says, “Hey, Travoltas, don’t do Tik-ity Tok-ing on my grass,” while a TikTok style clip shows father and daughter continuing to dance.
John and Ella showed their dance moves on Instagram in August, with the actor writing that they were dancing in memory of his late wife Kelly Preston, who died of breast cancer in July at the age of 57. He added, “One of Kelly’s favorite things is dancing with me.”
Travolta announced after Preston’s death that he would be taking time off from work to be with his children, including 10-year-old Ben (son Jett died in 2009), but he turned up in another popular commercial around the holidays. who reunited him. with his Pulp Fiction co-star Samuel L.
