Joe Biden nominated a new DEA director and an anti-drug diplomacy chief who was impeached by Nicolás Maduro

US President Joe Biden appointed a new director of the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Monday and appointed a diplomat, an expert in Central America, to head the Department of Narcotics and Security.

Biden chose Anne Milgram as director of the DEA, a former Attorney General of the State of New Jersey; Y as a narcotics officer in the State Department to Todd Robinson, who was the US Ambassador to Guatemala and accused Chargé d’Affaires in Venezuela, from where he was exiled by President Nicolás Maduro.

Milgram is currently a professor at New York University School of Law, where she heads the Criminal Justice Laboratory, which promotes alternatives to incarceration for people suffering from mental health or substance abuse problems.

“There is no system more outdated or broken and more problematic than the criminal justice system (of the United States),” Milgram said in an interview with the MarketWatch website in 2019.

To Robinson, nominated by Biden as Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, is a career diplomat who already has experience in that office., on which he worked during Obama’s tenure.
