Jessie J spent Christmas and struggled to hear after suffering from Meniere’s disease

Jessie J had to spend Christmas Eve in the hospital after being struck by Meniere’s disease.

The 32-year-old Flashlight singer revealed her illness on a recent Instagram live where she revealed she was struggling to hear, sing, or even walk in a straight line.

Ménière’s disease is an ear disorder that can cause sudden attacks of dizziness, vertigo and hearing loss.

According to the NHS website, an attack of Ménière’s disease can cause patients to feel like they or anything you are spinning around lose their balance and feel sick.

She told her fans what had happened and explained, ‘I woke up and felt like I was completely deaf in my right ear, couldn’t walk in a straight line.

‘I was actually diagnosed with Meniere’s syndrome. I know a lot of people suffer from it and I’ve actually had a lot of people contact me and give me good advice, so I just lay in silence.

‘This is the first time I can sing and bear it. I just miss singing and being with someone so much. ‘

The star continued: ‘It could be a lot worse, it is what it is. I am super grateful for my health. It just threw me away.

‘On Christmas Eve I was in ear hospital and said,’ What’s going on? ‘.

‘But I’m glad I went early and they quickly found out what it was, and that I got the right medicine, so I feel a lot better today.

“I haven’t sung for so long and when I sing loud it sounds like someone is trying to run out of my ear.”

On Christmas Day, Jessie took to Instagram to share selfie, where she confirmed in her caption that she had been diagnosed with Meniere’s syndrome.

Amid a list of things she had done that day, the star recounted how she was forced to watch television with a finger in her ear as she described how her illness felt.

She said, ‘I’m looking at Queens Gambit now with my finger in my ear. I did the first episode 4 times because I have no focus and my ear sounds like someone crawled in and turned on a hair dryer.

Her post was inundated with many likable messages, including Ru Paul’s Drag Race star Michelle Visage who said, ‘Menieres NOT nice … I feel your pain.’

With Jessie replying: ‘have you had it too? It’s so weird and out of nowhere, Merry Christmas. ‘

Meanwhile, at the start of the coronavirus crisis, the brunette sparked reconciliation claims with screen star Channing Tatum, 40, when she uploaded a sweet message in honor of his birthday.

The singer’s social media activity came just weeks after she reportedly quit the thespian again, following their renewed relationship earlier this year.
