Jeopardy Fans Hate Show select Joe Buck as a guest host

Danger fans aren’t too keen on Joe Buck becoming the show’s new host. News came this weekend that the sports commentator was getting his chance on the podium and people were going crazy. Aaron Rodgers just finished his stint and the fan base found that time largely digestible. But when Buck came into the picture, there was a ton of backlash across social media. It doesn’t help that there is a big social campaign for it Reading Rainbow legend Levar Burton has also taken off in recent weeks. Unfortunately for the folks watching at home, it looks like the baseball personality is getting its fair shake. He will have a tough climb ahead of him though, as the fan base can hold grudges when he wants to. The period after Alex Trebek’s death is filled with good moments and some stinkers. So it’s just a matter of seeing where this hosting tenure falls in that spectrum.

Show producer Mike Richards spoke to Deadline not long ago about the process of landing on a regular host.

“The search is going really well, there are a lot of people who are very interested in hosting Jeopardy !, which is gratifying, and also appropriately reverent for the shoes they will be getting into. We’ve had some great conversations with people, “Richards told Deadline.” We’re going to take our time and talk to a lot of people, have some people host and see what our fans think too. “

“You’ll also see big names who don’t qualify for the role, but they just love the show, love Alex, and wanted to pay tribute,” added Richards. So not everyone who comes in auditions. Go in a lot of different directions, I don’t think we want to be in a hurry to name a new person. We all still mourn the loss – I’m sure – of Alex, and I think we just turn around and appoint someone would be irresponsible and not thoughtful, which contradicts Jeopardy! ‘
