Jenniffer González discusses details about the new federal stimulus check

The resident commissioner, Jenniffer González, shared the details of the new project for more federal aid today, Sunday.

In a Facebook live, González noted that “the project is ready,” but it has not yet been approved.

González argued that the project will generate a check for $ 600 per person. In addition, people with children under the age of 18 will also receive $ 600 per child.

He also added that $ 325 billion would be approved for small and medium businesses. He explained that if he qualified for the first aid, he already qualified for the second.

One change that was noticeable was that instead of $ 10,000, companies receive $ 1,000 per employee. In addition, companies received the aid before they had 500 employees or fewer, but now they can only receive it if they have 300 or fewer employees.

On the other hand, González said the project includes unemployment benefits of $ 300 per week for an 11-week period, on top of the money from the state unemployment. Pandemic unemployment assistance (PUA) is also spread over 11 weeks.

The project proposes $ 3 billion in aid for medical specialists and funds for the distribution of the vaccine.

“One option is to pass another rolling budget resolution to extend the duration of the current budget until Wednesday,” González said.

Likewise, he noted that there is still opposition from members of the Republican and Democratic parties.

González took the opportunity to say he has been vaccinated today, and is urging citizens to get vaccinated when the time comes.

Detailed preview of new federal stimulus check for COVID:

A few hours ago, we discussed with the Republican leadership the agreement to fund the federal government and the aid package for COVID. The House should vote first today and then it goes to the Senate.

I am delighted that the new COVID bailout also includes $ 325 billion to provide PPP loans that are so essential for our small businesses to continue to operate. That is why we have advocated this important help together with Marco Rubio.

The process of acquiring PPP loans is being simplified and access is being expanded, allowing other small business sectors, including farmers and ranchers, to apply for them.

It also includes another round of checks; $ 600 per person and an additional $ 600 per minor. The same rules apply as for the previous check.

In addition, COVID assistance includes $ 300 per week for 11-week unemployment as well as for the PUA. These funds are in addition to the government grant.

Other provisions include funding for vaccine testing, tracking, development and distribution.
