They won’t be J-Rod anymore.
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez broke up, Page Six taught exclusively.
The superstar couple were photographed hugging in the Dominican Republic last month, where Lopez, 51, is filming her latest movie, “Shotgun Wedding”. Reports this week said their twice-postponed wedding was back on track.
But Miami sources told Page Six the couple hit the rocks and headed for Splitsville. A source familiar with A-Rod told us about the broken couple on Friday: “He’s now in Miami getting ready for baseball season and she’s filming her movie in the Dominican Republic.”
On Friday, A-Rod, 45, posted a photo of himself on Instagram alone on a yacht in Miami, grinning and staring at his cellphone with the caption, “Don’t mind me, just get a sailboat … plans for the weekend? ” (Looks like he’ll be solo.)
Meanwhile, J.Lo posted a series of old clips of himself laughing in various TV appearances and interviews. She captioned the montage: “Find a good reason to smile today … I’ll send everyone love.” Set to a light-hearted jingle, the clips were taken from interviews with David Letterman, Jay Leno, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Wendy Williams, as well as her review appearances on ‘World of Dance’ and ‘American Idol.
Earlier in the week, she also posted a sexy solo shot of herself lounging on a luxurious bed in a bathrobe during a break from shooting.
The stars announced their engagement in 2019, after dating for more than two years.
But then they postponed their marriage twice. Lopez revealed in December, “We had to cancel the wedding … because of COVID, because of the quarantine. And we actually did it twice, which people don’t know. “
It is unclear when the troubles in paradise began for the engaged couple. But the split comes on the heels of rumors that Rodriguez had been FaceTiming with “Southern Charm” star Madison LeCroy.
“The Madison LeCroy scandal was the reason they eventually split up. There were already problems, but Jennifer was really embarrassed about it, ”a source told Page Six on Friday.
Sources close to A-Rod told The Post of the rumors last month, “He doesn’t know this woman,” and LeCroy exclusively told Page Six that she and A-Rod “have never met,” but that they “talked to. the phone. ”“ That’s the truth, ”she said, adding that they“ have never been physical … never had anything. Just an acquaintance. “
Lopez and Rodriguez then formed a united front amid the scandal, went out to dinner in Miami and attended the Super Bowl together, where J.Lo had performed at the halftime show a year earlier.
In a recent interview, Lopez revealed that she and Rodriguez saw a therapist while they were in quarantine. “I think it was very helpful to us in our relationship,” said Lopez.
But apparently it wasn’t enough to keep them together in the end.
Lopez had also previously said he should postpone the wedding: “I think we just feel like, ‘Let’s just wait and see.’ There is no rush, we are good, everything is cool and it will happen when the time is right. I feel like having a big wedding right now is not a big priority, that’s not what life is about. ”
A-Rod joked on “The Tonight Show” in April, “Some people said, maybe we’ll have a drive-thru wedding? It’ll be cheaper.”
Lopez has 12-year-old twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Rodriguez is the father of two daughters with ex-Cynthia Scurtis.
Although the couple were not married, they had a penchant for picking up real estate and doing business together. They reportedly bought a $ 40 million waterfront home on Star Island in Florida last summer and had already flipped a home in Miami with the help of Chip and Joanna Gaines. They also bought and sold a penthouse in Manhattan.
Last summer, the Hollywood star and baseball legend tried unsuccessfully to buy the Mets together, but lost a bidding war to billionaire Steve Cohen.
They also both support the fitness brand TruFusion.
Lopez’s latest film also stars Josh Duhamel, who took over his role in the movie when Armie Hammer left. She also recently launched her JLo Beauty line.
A-Rod, who works as a broadcaster for both ESPN and Fox Sports, recently filed to raise $ 500 million in an IPO, with hedge fund Antara Capital, for a specialty acquisition company called Slam Corp.
