Jason Isbell has apparently done it all. Besides his Grammy-winning music career, huh inadvertently played a role in creating the 30-50 wild boar meme, and wrote a song for it A star is born that is arguably Bradley Cooper’s best solo trackAnd now he can add one more big milestone to his extensive resume: acting in a Martin Scorsese movie. Per Osage News, Isbell makes his acting debut in Scorsese’s adaptation of Killers Of The Flower Moon, alongside Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jesse Plemons.

According to Osage News“The story chronicles the systematic murders of Osage tribesmen in the 1920s and describes the birth of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which investigated and discovered the plot to kill Osages for their oil wealth.” The story centers on criminal mastermind William “Bill” Hale, who will be played by De Niro. Isbell will play Bill Smith, who was the husband of Reta Smith, “Mollie Burkhart’s younger sister who is tragically murdered when Bill Hale’s employees blow up her house with dynamite.”

He will also be joined by fellow countryman Sturgill Simpson, who will play Henry Grammer, “an infamous rodeo champion and bootlegger and close friend of Hale.” Simpson had previously appeared in Queen and slim and The hunt, so this isn’t his first cinematic rodeo. Twilight Saga: EclipseWilliam Belleau and The IrishmanLouis Cancelmi are also new additions to the cast.
