Jason Isaacs pays tribute to the late ‘Harry Potter’ woman, Helen McCrory – Deadline

On Saturday, Jason Isaacs took to Twitter to note the death and celebrate his life Harry Potter co-star, Helen McCrory.

Based on JK Rowling’s globally popular book series, the film series stars Isaacs and McCrory as Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy, the evil parents of the thoroughbred Slytherin wizard and Harry Potter antagonist Draco (Tom Felton).

Decades ago, Helen and I auditioned for a movie together. I came home and said to [my wife] Emma [Hewitt] “I think I just met the best actress I’ve ever seen,” Isaacs recalls. “After years of watching her enchant the audience, I don’t think so anymore … I know.”

Fortunately, the actor added, he would discover that McCrory was also “shamefully funny, shockingly mischievous and with an empathetic heart the size of a planet.”

“Just as constantly impressed as I was in the Harry Potter movies, while on screen married to and [giggling] with the amazing Helen McCrory will always be a highlight, ”he continued. An award-winning actress who is remembered for her significant contributions to film, television and theater, McCrory died in London on Friday. She was 52.

McCrory’s husband, Billions star Damian Lewis, announced her death on Twitter, noting that she died peacefully at home after a “heroic battle” with cancer.

She died as she lived. Fearless, ”added Lewis. “God, we love her and know how lucky we are to have her in our lives. She sparkled so brightly. Now, little one, take to the air and thank you. “

Between 2009 and 2011, McCrory starred with Isaac in three Harry Potter movies, from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince up to and including the last movie in the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2The actress is also remembered for her turns in BBC crime drama Peaky blinders, BBC and HBOs Are dark materials, and the James Bond movie franchise, among many other projects.
