Jarvis Landry called Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters “cowardly” after a video showed Peters apparently spit at the Cleveland Browns wide receiver when he walked away Monday night.
“He’s a coward,” Landry said Thursday. “I think he knew he might do this kind of thing behind my back, but in my eyes he wouldn’t … Now I know. Everyone knows the type of player he is, the type of person he is. . “
The incident took place at the end of the first quarter of Monday Night Football. Landry said he didn’t realize Peters would have spit at him until after the game, when watching a rerun of the ESPN broadcast.
Wait until I turn and do something like that? It’s like putting it in my face, ”Landry said. “Be a man in it if you’re going to do something like that.”
When asked if he was concerned that the spitting would violate NFL COVID-19 protocols, Landry replied, “If there’s protocol for being a man, it certainly isn’t there.”
The Ravens defeated the Browns 47-42 in one of the top games of this NFL season.
Landry said he would remember the spit the next time he meets Peters on the field, which could be in the AFC playoffs if the Browns and Ravens both advance to the postseason.
“I won’t sleep,” Landry said. “But it will definitely make it a game to remember.”
