Jane Fonda cited activism for ‘changing my life’ when she marked International Women’s Day with Jameela Jamil.

In a new interview for jewelry company Pomellato, the 83-year-old actress admitted that she had ‘no meaning’ before taking part in a major campaign for change in the world over 60 years ago.

The legendary movie star also advocated for women because they were “responsible for the survival of our species” and “leaders around the world.”

“I know how deeply a person can change because I have,” said the previous model, before discussing the power of healing from past trauma.

The media personality explained, “I think it’s important to understand why they are there, how you got the wounds, looked them squarely, and then try to forgive the cause of the wounds. That is the most important thing.

It was the fourth time she had been arrested for climate change protest, with the Julia star admitting that the conditions in her cell were “ not good for old bones like mine on a metal plate. ”

International Women’s Day is held annually to celebrate women’s social, economic, cultural and political achievements while raising awareness about gender equality and equality around the world.
