In the 69th minute, DT Carlo Ancelotti decided to replace him with Finn Gylfi Sigurdsson. The Colombian seemed to leave the field with some pain.

Ancelotti confessed at the post-game press conference that James had a condition in the middle of the game.

“James felt a problem in one calf at the end of the first half, but he told me he wanted to continue. Then I noticed he was tired. It was a risk, but I trusted him. After 20 minutes I decided to change it ”, the DT assured.

The Colombian has repeatedly suffered from calf injuries. Aside from this Saturday, which has not yet been confirmed by Everton’s medical staff, there are seven injuries he has suffered since 2014, at Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and now at the English club.
