The $ 40 Super Mario deluxe Bowser Ship playset, coming from Nintendo and Jakks Pacific this fall, plays the airship theme as the 2.5-inch plumber climbs aboard to deal major damage.
Announced today in honor of this week’s MAR10 holiday, the Bowser ship is a real toy playset for real plastic Mario toys. There are no funny Lego things here, no gimmicks unless you count the electronic music, spinning propellers and swaying wheels. It has Bowser’s face in the front and, just in case, another Bowser face in the back, in case you’ve forgotten whose ship it is by the time you get to the back.
The airship also offers a nice bit of Mario figure collector utility, with plenty of room inside to cram in whatever figures they keep collecting. It is a platform for the use of mobile toys.
