Jackson Health System announced today that it is expanding its criteria for COVID-19 vaccines in its three locations. Starting Tuesday, March 9, Jackson will vaccinate Floridians in the following four categories:
65 years or older.
50 to 64 years old with identification showing that you are an elementary school employee, sworn law enforcement officer or firefighter.
18 years or older and declare that your doctor has recommended the vaccine for your high risk condition (no documentation required).
16-17 years old, and you should confirm that your doctor has recommended the vaccine because of your high-risk condition. No documentation or proof is required. A parent or legal guardian is required to accompany you to your appointment to provide consent.
In the past three months, the Jackson Health System vaccinated more than 106,000 members of our community, including Florida residents aged 65 and older, as well as residents aged 50-64 with specific high-risk medical conditions, sworn police officers, K-12 school personnel, and firefighters.
The Jackson is opening their online dating portal at JacksonHealth.org today and people who meet the above criteria can get an appointment tomorrow. The Jackson will continue to inform the public of appointment availability via Twitter and Instagram: @JacksonHealth.
Jackson will also continue to send personal invitations to existing Jackson patients with certain risk factors and allow them to register without having to schedule appointments online. Likewise, Jackson also remains committed to working with community partners and religious institutions throughout Miami-Dade County to vaccinate as many eligible individuals as possible.
