MIAMI – The Jackson Health System on Wednesday began providing the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to seniors 65 and older.
Emilio Estefan, 67, and Miami Dolphins’ legend Nat Moore, 69, received the first dose of the vaccine in the presence of reporters from the Christine E. Lynn Rehabilitation Center for The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis at UHeath / Jackson Memorial.
According to Lidia Amoretti, a spokeswoman for Jackson Health System, the public health care system will receive 15,000 additional doses of Pfizers vaccine to be administered to seniors.
The system is also preparing to launch an online platform that will allow Miami-Dade County residents aged 65 and older to make arrangements to receive the vaccine.
Also in Miami-Dade, the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach provides the vaccine to seniors 75 and older. Call 305-674-2312 for more information.
