Could be EA’s dormant franchise Mirror’s Edge make a comeback? This is the question some fans have asked themselves after a recent tweet from Electronic Arts hit the internet. While there’s nothing specific about the message indicating that a revival of any kind could be in the works, it’s kind of strange to see that come to pass as EA hasn’t been talking about the series for years at this point. has spoken.
The tweet in question was shared on EA’s account for the region of France where it shared a blurry image from one of its games. The caption, written in French, asked fans if they knew which game the image came from. Based on the iconic red gloves that could be seen somewhat clearly in the image, the answer was clearly that of Mirror’s Edge

While this tweet could definitely have been a fun way for EA to connect with fans, others thought it was odd that the publisher Mirror’s Edge similar. Some people on the internet immediately started to wonder if this tweet specifically could be the first tease of a future episode in the Mirror’s Edge series.
But in all likelihood this is certainly not the case. Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst, the most recent version in the franchise, launched in 2016. However, the game did not fare very well in terms of sales. Not to mention, it was also not as critically well received as its predecessor. As a whole, to see EA return to make another game in the Mirror’s Edge series seems pretty unlikely.
However, that’s not to say we’ll never see it Mirror’s Edge return in any capacity. If nothing else, there might be a remaster or remake of the first game in the future. If that happens, it doesn’t seem likely that this tweet is any indication that it is happening.
