iPhone 11 Pro with misprinted Apple logo sold for $ 2700

An alleged “misprint” iPhone 11 Pro that apparently sold for $ 2,700 surfaced in a tweet, with images with the Apple logo on the back of the iPhone not positioned correctly.

Posted on Twitter on Friday by “Internal Archive” the images show the back of an iPhone 11 Pro from two points of view, with one facing up from the base, while the other is a flat view from above. The second image is shown next to an edited version to emphasize the “printing error”.

The defect is in the positioning and angle of the Apple logo, which is usually in the center of the back panel. In this case, the logo is not centered to the right and it is also tilted a bit counterclockwise. If it is genuine, it is possible that this was a manufacturing defect where the panel was not properly seated in a machine before the logo was applied to the device.

While such images usually contain some form of evidence to convince viewers that they are real, very little additional information is provided by the Twitter account. It is estimated to be an “extremely rare” misprint with a “1 in 100 million” chance of happening, and it is further claimed that the device has passed Apple’s stringent quality assurance processes and actually moved to a customer.

It’s unclear when and how the misprinted iPhone sold for $ 2,700.

While the account is relatively unknown and not very tracked, it seems plausible that the images could be real. The anonymous account has repeatedly posted images of prototype devices in the past, and while it is extremely rare, occasionally mistakes slip into the hands of consumers.
