Iowa is not reporting additional COVID-19 deaths as the number of hospital admissions continues to decline

DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) – The Iowa Department of Public Health reported that another 1,905 Iowans tested positive for COVID-19, but no additional deaths were reported on Friday.

As of 10:30 a.m., state data shows a total of 264,115 COVID-19 cases and 3,451 COVID-19-related deaths since the start of the pandemic.

State records show that a total of 208,681 Iowans have recovered from the virus.

According to the data made available by the state, 5,488 COVID-19 tests have been performed, bringing the total of the tests to 1,305,950 since the start of the pandemic. According to this data, the positivity rate in the past 24 hours was 34.7 percent.

Hospital admissions continue to decline in Iowa. As of 10:30 AM, 701 Iowans will be hospitalized with the virus, 96 of whom have been admitted in the past 24 hours. Of the Iowans admitted to hospital, 136 are in the ICU and 80 on fans.
