Iowa has given more than 1.5 million COVID-19 tests, hospital admissions are below 300

Every day at 10 a.m. we take the previous day’s numbers from 10 a.m. and subtract them with the current state figures at 10 a.m. Instead of reporting a day behind, we want to give you the most current information. For Black Hawk and Linn Counties, we report numbers from their COVID-19 websites in the county. For Johnson and Dubuque counties, we report figures from the state website.

IOWA

(KWWL) – There were 1,035 new confirmed cases from Tuesday 10am to Wednesday 10am, according to the dashboard of the state, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 326,414.

The state’s website says that of the 326,414 people who tested positive, 297,818 have recovered. These are 1,378 more recoveries than what the state reported on Monday.

The state’s death toll is 5,174, 29 more than yesterday.

Subtracting the number of recoveries (297,818) and the number of deaths (5,174) from the total number of cases (326,414), it appears that there are currently 23,422 active positive cases in the state.

As of Wednesday morning, there were 48 patients hospitalized in Iowa in the past 24 hours, and the total number of hospitalizations is 292, a decrease from 327 hospitalized the day before. Of these, 67 are on the IC (same as yesterday) and 27 on fans (against 29).

In Iowa, 2,637 new tests have been done in the last 24 hours, and a total of 1,500,780 people have been tested for COVID-19. The positivity rate for the past 24 hours (1,035 positive tests divided by 2,637 given tests) is 39.2 percent.

According to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine dashboard, 348,659 total doses have been administered to residents of Iowa and 95,642 individuals have completed the series. As of Wednesday, 12,385 residents of Black Hawk County, 26,368 residents of Linn County, 27,759 residents of Johnson County and 12,030 residents of Dubuque County received the vaccine. BLACK HAWK COUNTY

The Dashboard Black Hawk COVID-19 shows 34 new cases since 10:00 am Tuesday, leaving a total of 15,554 cases (14,602 PCR and antigen positive cases and 952 serology positive cases). There have been 52 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 13,397. There were three additional deaths, resulting in a total of 270 deaths. The average 14-day positivity rate for the county is 6.9 percent.

LINN COUNTY

The Linn County COVID-19 Dashboard shows 40 new cases since 10 a.m. Tuesday, making 18,970 cases in total. There are 56 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 16,705 recoveries. There were no additional deaths, resulting in a total of 312 deaths in the province. There are currently 20 patients hospitalized in the province. The average 14-day positivity rate for the county is 9 percent.

JOHNSON COUNTY

According to the the dashboard of the state at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, 41 new positive cases have been reported in Johnson County since 10:00 a.m. Tuesday. This brings the total to 12,738 reported cases. There were a total of 11,772 recoveries, 68 more than yesterday. There was one more death, leaving a total of 66 deaths. The average 14-day positivity rate for the county is 7 percent.

DUBUQUE COUNTY

According to the the dashboard of the state At 10 a.m. Wednesday, 40 additional positive cases have been reported in Dubuque County since 10 a.m. Tuesday. This brings the total to 12,038 reported cases. 41 additional recoveries have been reported, making a total of 11,061. No additional deaths were reported, leaving a total of 186. The average 14-day positivity rate for the county is 7 percent.
