Interpreter of the Liverpool National Anthem You never die alone

Gerry Marsden, the English singer who became popular “ You will never walk alone ” (you will never walk alone), which became Liverpool’s iconic anthem, died this Sunday at the age of 78the British press announced.

Gerry Marsden re-recorded the song in April 2020 as a tribute to the UK’s National Health Service during the start of the new coronavirus pandemic.

Paul McCartney, a mythical ex-Beatles member who coincided with Marsden and his group in the 1960s in Liverpool, paid tribute to him on his Twitter account: “Gerry has been a companion from our start in Liverpool. He and his group were our biggest rivals on the local scene“.
