International Travelers: Requirements for Entry and Departure to Colombia 2021 – Government – Policy


Through resolution 532 of December 31, 2020, the Ministry of Health announced that PCR testing with negative results will again be required for all international travelers.

What does it take to enter Colombia?

Since when should the PCR test be presented?

Resolution 0002 of 2021 assigns a deadline, setting the administration of the PCR test in Colombia to January 12, 2021.

What if I can’t get a PCR test?

Resolution 002 requires the boarding of travelers who do not present the negative result of the PCR test in their country of origin, only if they indicate they have had difficulties taking it or getting the result within the time limit set for the flight. In these cases, the traveler is informed that, upon entering the country, he must perform the PCR test and isolate preventively for 14 days. The isolation may end earlier if the result of the PCR test is negative. It can also be extended by epidemiological criteria.

Travelers must verbally declare that they had difficulty taking the test or obtaining the result in the time required for the flight; For these purposes, the verbal manifestation of the passenger is sufficient, which is believed to have taken place under the gravity of the oath.

The value of the PCR test and the costs associated with preventive isolation are the responsibility of the traveler. The Minister of Health of the place of disembarkation and / or destination is responsible for checking whether the traveler remains preventively isolated.

Yes, the follow-up will be in charge of the municipal or district health secretariats, as well as the EPS, and Migración Colombia will continue to send these agencies the list of travelers arriving daily.

You should report to your EAPB or the municipal or county secretariat of your residence or place of residence and to the airline if you have symptoms related to Covid-19 during the 14 days following your travel and follow the indicated actions.

What does it take to leave Colombia?

You must complete the Check-Mig application form. You must also meet the requirements of the country of destination.

Do children have to wear masks during the flight?

Yes, the use of a face mask is mandatory for everyone from the age of two, both at the airport and on the plane during the trip. This should cover the nose up to the chin and should be avoided removing it.
