Institute of Forensic Sciences completes autopsies of three police officers killed in Carolina

The executive director of Institute of Forensic Sciences, Dr. María Conte Miller, confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that the autopsies of the three officers were killed yesterday, Monday, in Carolina.

“The Institute of Forensic Science completed the autopsies of police officers Luis Marrero, Eliezer Hernández and Luis Salamán who were killed on duty yesterday. All autopsy protocols (reports) will be available to authorities investigating the matter tomorrow “, it indicated in written statements.

Municipal officials Hernández Cartagena and Salamán Conde, as well as state official Luis Marrero Díaz, died after a chase that ended in a gunshot exchange with a fugitive.

Another state agent, who is in stable condition, was wounded by a gunshot.

Following the incident, the Justice Department appointed seven prosecutors to investigate the events.

Meanwhile, police are investigating whether the body of a man found on San José Street, intersection with Muñoz Rivera Avenue, in Santurce, at sunrise on Tuesday, belongs to the agents’ alleged murderer.

The individual wore gray shorts and a black shirt, had one tattoo on his right arm that read ‘Sofia’ and another on his right leg with the design of a caravel.
