No matter how you run it, 2020 was an incredible year for Innersloth and you would have had a hard time escaping its popular game Among us. Despite being released in 2018, it slowly became one of the most successful games of 2020 and, after a surprising drop after the last Indie Showcase in December, we can finally play on Nintendo Switch.
We’ve known for a while that they will be adding a new map as a free update and now Innersloth has given us a little update. Detailed through their latest blog post, much of it is a refresh of last year’s well-deserved performance and launches for other platforms, but they also discuss Among Us’s roadmap for 2021.
The new Airship map is part of this, which was accidentally accessed on Switch in December via a glitch. Due to release in “Early 2021” and based on The Henry Stickmin Collection, the Airship uniquely lets you choose which room to start in, in addition to new features like ladders and additional costumes. It was revealed at The Game Awards and if you missed it, the trailer below is available:
Specifically for the Switch version, Innersloth has also addressed several bug fixes, including one that prevents certain words from being blocked in the chat. Furthermore, an in-game account system is also being implemented, adding friend lists and saved stats, but no launch window is given.
It’s definitely going to be a busy 2021 for Among Us and we can’t wait to see what it brings.
