In two weeks, Health could open the COVID vaccination to everyone

Health Department Secretary Carlos Mellado assured that if the government of Puerto Rico continues to receive the amount of vaccines against the coronavirus, COVID-19, within two weeks, it could open the process to the entire population.

In an interview with Playing Hard Ball, Mellado indicated that this could happen “if everything goes well and I receive it from Jansen”. Jansen’s vaccine is made by the company Johnson & Johnson.

“This week they gave us more than 3,000 vaccines. I expected to get the same amount as I did from the others, namely 32,000 from Moderna and 42,000 from Pfizer,” the official added.

At a press conference today, Mellado announced the expansion of ages with access to COVID vaccines, which will allow people aged 35 to 49 with chronic illnesses and anyone 50 or older.
