Members of the Public Prosecution Service and the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) reported on the capture this Sunday, with the cooperation of the US Marshals, of alleged drug traffickers Vladimir Natera Abreu and Joset Jomar Rivera Verdejo.
Natera Abreu, considered the largest cocaine trafficker in Puerto Rico, and Rivera Verdejo were arrested in a raid on Gil Roma Tower, in the Evaristo Morales extension, in the National District.
Authorities reported that both drug traffickers are being held at DNCD headquarters and taken into custody by Marshalls agents.
They reported that the process for their delivery to Puerto Rico will begin in the next few hours, where they have pending court issues for crimes related to drug trafficking.
The information was presented through a press release. Authorities explained that his arrest took place as part of the strategies they are implementing against the drug trade in the country.
Natera Abreu and Rivera Verdejo have been actively prosecuted since last year by the authorities of the Public Prosecution Service and the DNCD.
Sunday’s operation is part of the Dominican state’s international cooperation efforts against organized crime.
