IMSS enables Temporary Care Center for Covid-19 patients in Lindavista

The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) gave the flag to the Lindavista Unit Temporary Care Center qIt was installed in the General Zone Hospital (HGZ) No. 24, with 40 hospital beds in front recovering from Covid-19.

The general director of the IMSS, Zoé Robledo, indicated that a strong work team has been formed between the health sector institutions and the Mexico City government to address the pandemic in the Metropolitan area of ​​the Valley of Mexico given the increase in infections and assured that he will vent to hospitals with a high occupancy rate.

He highlighted the federal government’s efforts to ensure that health personnel treating COVID-19 are vaccinated first, as they have remained in primary care of patients with this disease in the emergency.

The head of the government, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, recalled that from December 15, 2020, hospital capacity for Covid-19 care in the Metropolitan Area of ​​the Valley of Mexico (ZMVM) has increased by 42% to date, which equates to about 3,000 beds, and which was possible thanks to the coordination of all health systems.

“If we think that a hospital has 120 beds, which means that we are reaching 3,000 extra care beds, reconversion of hospitals, hospitals that have already been converted and were being converted again, new hospital beds from temporary units like this one, then it is really an extraordinary effort made in the metropolitan area of ​​the Valley of Mexico, ”he said.

Meanwhile, ISSSTE’s general manager, Luis Antonio Ramirez Pineda, noted that the health sector engages in a coordinated work and maintains constant communication to support and provide the service to every citizen who needs it.

He assured that Mexico City is working with the head of the government to improve and expand hospital infrastructure in the area, especially during the calamities.

They strengthen medical attention for patients with Covid

The temporary focus center is located on the esplanade of sub-delegation 1 north of the IMSS, Mexico City, and has 40 hospital beds to enhance medical care for convalescent patients referred with Covid-19.

The workforce consists of 33 doctors, 99 nurses, 35 paramedics, six technicians and seven administrative staff; for the workers and the receiving of inputs there is an alternative input and differentiated flows to avoid cross-contamination.

The unit has 40 vital signs monitors, four transfer fans pediatric adult, eight ventilators, four red carts with complete resuscitation equipment with defibrillator, pacemaker monitor, electrocardiograph, and radiology unit.
