Illinois COVID Update Today: IL Reports 3,536 New Cases of Coronavirus, 31 Dead

CHICAGO (WLS) – Public health officials in Illinois on Wednesday reported 3,536 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 31 related deaths.

There have been a total of 1,288,934 COVID cases, including 21,570 deaths in the state since the start of the pandemic.

Illinois, Indiana to discontinue use of Johnson & Johnson vaccine following reports of blood clots

As of Tuesday night, 2,076 patients in Illinois were reported hospitalized with COVID-19. Of these, 453 patients were in intensive care and 198 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilator.

In the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported testing 88,390 samples for a total of 21,371,760 since the start of the pandemic.

The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity from April 7-13 is 5%.

A total of 9,386,135 doses of vaccine have been delivered to suppliers in Illinois, including Chicago.
In Illinois, a total of 7,482,650 vaccines have been administered as of Tuesday evening. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is 132,810 doses. There were 138,538 doses reported administered in Illinois on Tuesday.

The deaths reported Wednesday include:

-Carroll County: 1 man from the 1970s
-Cook County: 1 woman 20s, 1 woman 30, 1 woman 50, 3 men 60, 1 woman 70, 4 men 70, 2 women 80, 3 men 80
-DuPage County: 1 female 60’s, 1 male 90’s
-Kane County: 1 male, 30 years old
-Lake County: 1 man in the 60’s, 1 man in the 80
-Madison County: 1 man from the 1970s

-McHenry County: 1 female 90s
-Peoria County: 1 woman in her 40s
-Richland County: 1 female 1960s
-Tazewell County: 1 man out of 80
-Vermilion County: 1 woman 30, 1 woman 70
-Whiteside County: 1 woman in 30
-Will County: 1 man out of 80
