Illinois COVID Update Today: IL Reports 2,082 New Coronavirus Cases, 20 Dead

CHICAGO (WLS) – Health officials in Illinois reported 2,082 new COVID-19 cases and 20 deaths on Tuesday.

The total number of cases in Illinois now stands at 1,150,170, with a total of 19,686 deaths, since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the last 24 hours, laboratories reported 55,705 copies for a total of 16,739,500.

Monday evening, 2,117 patients in Illinois were reported hospitalized with COVID-19. Of these, 497 were patients in the ICU and 240 patients with COVID-19 on ventilator.

The seven-day statewide preliminary test positivity from February 2-8 is 4.0%.

A total of 1,638,125 doses of vaccine have been delivered to healthcare providers in Illinois, including Chicago, with an additional 496,100 doses assigned to federal government partners for long-term care facilities, bringing the total number of doses delivered in Illinois to 2,134,225.

IDPH reports that a total of 1,417,156 vaccine doses have been administered, including 216,522 in long-term facilities. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered is 55,455.

The IDPH says vaccine distribution numbers are reported in real time, and vaccine delivery lags by as much as 72 hours.

The city’s in-house vaccination sites will remain open, as will the mass vaccination site at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Grayslake. Officials there said the need to change staff regularly out of the cold could cause delays.

-Clinton County: 1 man from the 1970s
– Cook County: 1 man 40er, 1 woman 60er, 1 man 60er, 1 woman 70er, 2 men 70er, 1 man 80er
– Edwards County; 1 male 1970s

– LaSalle County: 1 1970s woman, 1 1970s man, 1 1990s woman
Madison County: 1 man in his 80’s
McDonough County: 1 man out of 80
– McHenry County: 2 men 1970s
– McLean County: 1 80’s female
– Monroe County: 1 man from the 90’s
– St. Clair County: 1 man from the 1970s
– Winnebago County: 1 90’s female
