Illinois COVID Update Today: IL Reports 1,682 New Coronavirus Cases, 30 Dead

CHICAGO (WLS) – Officials from the Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,682 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 30 deaths on Wednesday.

IDPH reported a total of 1,202,709 COVID-19 cases, including 20,810 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

As of Tuesday evening, 1,157 patients in Illinois were reported hospitalized with COVID-19. Of these, 242 patients were in intensive care and 111 patients with COVID-19 on ventilator equipment.

In the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported testing 71,488 samples for a total of 18,804,759 since the start of the pandemic.

The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity from March 3-9 is 2.6%.

A total of 4,323,145 doses of vaccine have been delivered to healthcare providers in Illinois, including Chicago, with an additional 414,900 doses assigned to federal government partners for long-term care facilities, bringing the total number delivered in Illinois to 4,738,045.

When can kids get the COVID vaccine?

IDPH reports that a total of 3,567,927 vaccine doses have been administered, including 349,983 in long-term facilities. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered is 95,369.

A total of 1,247,781 people in Illinois have been fully vaccinated

On Tuesday, 104,777 vaccine doses were administered.

-Christian County: 1 90s woman
-Coles County: 1 woman from the 50s
-Cook County: 2 men 50s, 1 woman 60, 1 woman 70, 1 man 70, 2 men 80, 1 woman 90
-Edgard County: 1 man out of 50
-Fayette County: 1 man from the 1970s
-Jefferson County: 1 man in his 60s
-Kane County: 1 man in the 30’s, 1 woman in the 70’s
-Kendall County: 1 female 70’s
-Lake County: 1 woman from the 80’s, 1 woman from the 90’s
-Ogle County: 1 woman in her 80’s
-Perry County: 1 man from the 1950s
-Rock Island County: 1 female 1960s
-St. Clair County: 1 man 50er, 1 man 60er, 2 woman 70er, 1 woman 80er, 1 woman 90er
-Stephenson County: 1 man from the 1970s
-Will County: 1 woman in her 80’s
-Winnebago County: 1 female 80’s
