Summary: Do you remember last year’s announcement that Ikea joined forces with Asus to create affordable furniture for gamers? The first wave of these products has gone down in China and includes some very hip pieces.
In September, we heard that the first products from Asus’ Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand and the Swedish furniture giant’s partnership would initially launch in China in early 2021. As promised, the reasonably priced items are now available in the country.
One of the most interesting and expensive offerings is a gaming table (top) with motorized height adjustments, allowing users to select the optimal position and save four preset heights. This 3999 yuan (~ $ 618) piece of furniture reaches a maximum of 47 inches from table to floor and can be used as a standing desk.
For those looking for a more traditional, cheaper ($ 92) option, the Utespelare gaming table (above) has six adjustable height settings and a metal mesh on the back for improved heat dissipation.
Elsewhere, there’s a $ 12 computer tower stand with casters for moving around those giant platforms, and the $ 154 gaming chair looks pretty good, while being cheaper than most comparable products.
Ikea also offers a stylish $ 15 headset holder, a $ 30 pegboard for all your accessories, and a handy $ 7.50 mug stand that can be locked onto a desk, preventing burns.
Make sure to check out the $ 23 “Multipurpose Pillow / Blanket” which appears to combine a pillow, blanket and onesie in one item, allowing gamers to keep their all-important hands warm during loading screens and long cutscenes.
Asus ROG furniture will hit “other Ikea markets” from October.
