As part of the order task, the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC) is joining the process of transforming rates, Tania Delgado, vice president of the cultural institution, informed the Cubacine portal.

According to Delgado, the rates are unchanging, as in the specific case of Project 23, but can undergo changes in other provinces as determined by their administrations.

Project 23 Director Irinka Cordoví explains that these changes to the services they offer are covered by Resolution 328/20 issued by the Ministry of Finance and Prices and approved by the President of ICAIC, Ramón Samada, and the Minister of Culture , Alpidio Alonso.

The entrance fee, he said, for the 2D movie features will go up to 5 CUP in all theaters. Prices for access to 3D features are 15 CUP for children under 12 and 25 CUP for adults.

With regard to children’s and circus performances, the prices are 20 CUP for children and 30 CUP for adults; musical, humorous and other shows range from 100 to 150 CUP, depending on the level and quality of the performers; and other Project 23 services are valued at 25 CUP per person.

For Cordoví, the price increase implies better functioning in theaters and cinemas, which is reflected in a dedication to elements such as hygiene and environment, the quality of the programming and excellent treatment of the assistants.

“We know that audience attendance in cinemas has declined in recent years. The country’s cultural policy calls on us to save the magic of the darkroom. Our reason for existence is the cinematographic exhibition, for that reason within the strategy we propose to strengthen the dissemination and promotion of our programming, as well as to create a Project 23 web page, if we take into account the scope of social networks and the importance they represent today, ‘he said.
