I was born in 1989, what’s the most 80’s car?

In 2021, I am what you would consider an older person millennialI don’t remember what cars looked like in the 80s, born at the end of that decade and raised around machines, mostly from the early to mid 90s.

By the time I was old enough to pick my favorites on the road, the cars from the Reagan years were less common, and the rounder designs of the Clinton years began to take over. I know a lot of cars from the early ’90s were relics of the’ 80s, designs taken from the mid and rear of those years and still stomping when I fell in love with cars.

But I don’t have a complete look at that decade anywhere. I need help from you readers, the folks who have first-hand knowledge and a fierce opinion of which car was really the 80’s car.

Is it like the Buick Grand National GNX, that I am in part despite not really being a big fan of American muscle cars? I just love the Buick’s headlights and wide grille. Its darkened face reads like a warning not to wrestle with that forced induction V6 under the hood.

Or is it something German and more colorful like the Porsche 911 CarreraThat beloved car had great factory paint and the neat accordion part on the bumper. It could of course be something more lavish than that, a car that represents even more prosperity than a Porsche 911 and more vehicle surpluses than the Buick GNX.

Is it like the cars van Miami ViceThat’s a show I’ve only ever known from references to Don Johnson and his oversized sports jacketsThat old show featured a white Ferrari Testarossa, of which I know almost nothing, except maybe it’s the car that Frank Ocean refers to when he sings about a white Ferrari.

I do not know! I have no idea what I’m missing here. So I transfer it to you: what car is most Car from the 80s?
