Everything seemed normal, until after her marriage and giving birth to their two daughters, she discovered that he was a bigamist, had one more wife and five engaged couples. There she found out that he was not her doting husband, but a con man who had cheated on dozens of women in the United States and the United Kingdom.
The story is told by Mary in her book “The Psycho”, which will go on sale in the UK on March 1. However, part of the story is known because the Daily Mail released a preview that includes the first-person account and how she managed to get her husband to eventually be deported and incarcerated in the United States.

He says he met Jordan online 21 years ago, they were both 35 years old. She was a single mother, recovering from a failed relationship, and spending time raising her one-year-old baby. She hoped to find love in an affectionate man, and the American, characterized by good speech and self-confidence, seemed ideal.
“He used the kinds of techniques that cult leaders and abusers use, and he flooded me with love from the start before I even knew him. When we started talking online, he sent me long emails about his past and who he was, and I told him about my dreams and ambitions. We wrote to each other three, four, five times a day. It got intoxicating. I was carried away by romance, ”said the writer.

Jordan assured her that he had been mumps and infertile as a child, a factor that Mary found much more favorable because she already had a daughter: “I liked it when a man spoke so openly to me about his feelings. His infertility made him a much more suitable prospect since I already had a daughter and wanted a father figure in her life. Everything was easy… but it was a lie ”.
The couple eventually married in 2002, had two children, and Jordan convinced her that she was miraculously cured of her infertility.
In addition, he convinced her that he was working for the CIA in the computer industry, which justified his long and frequent absence, the time he used to see his other family. In addition, he told her that there were dangerous men who wanted to kidnap her children.

Mary was shocked to discover her husband’s double life and that she too had fallen victim to a cruel financial scam because Jordan had forged her name on several credit cards and incurred $ 78,000 in debt. In addition, he convinced her to sell her house, apparently to pay a ransom to prevent dangerous men involved in her work with the CIA from kidnapping her children.
‘He had told me outright lies. Not only did he already have at least six children when I met him in 2000, but both his wife and his wife’s nanny were expecting him at the time, ”he said.

He found out that he was a convicted sex offender, that he had five engaged couples, two wives and 13 children.
He denied everything: “He was a psychopath: he looked bored in court, as if he were getting a parking ticket, and when he was convicted, there was no flicker of emotion. His eyes were dead, ”said Mary, writing her experience in her first book, The Bigamist.
Mary managed to imprison him, but after two and a half years in a British prison, he was released and deported to New Jersey in 2009. Seven months later, history repeated itself.

New victims, now Americans, contacted her. One woman had become pregnant and homeless after meeting Jordan on a dating site, another was a Mexican woman with a sister with Down syndrome whose family he had devastated financially.
The opportunity to catch him came in 2014 when American nurse Mischele Lewis, 36, contacted Mary. Like me, she was a single mother who had been in an unfortunate situation before meeting a man who seemed to be the right man. Like me, she got engaged to him, lost money to him, and then found out the truth. ‘
The two women devised a daring plan to have Mischele record Jordan secretly with a hidden camera that he wore like a button until he confessed to scamming her. The police arrested him and he was imprisoned.
But when Jordan got out of prison in 2017, it continued to target vulnerable women. Mary realized that the best way to stop him was to write a book, based on her own experiences and teach women to recognize the telltale signs of a predator like Jordan.
“I thought it was my fault, but found that I score high on the empathy scale, and Will Jordan targets women who are empathetic, testing them early on to see if they sympathize with their stories of sobbing about a woman. Awful childhood, ”he said.
