COUNTY MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Miami-Dade police are investigating a double shooting that took place Tuesday morning.
The shooting was reported in the area of Northwest 17th Avenue and 74th Street.
Miami-Dade Police Department Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said there was an argument between the victims and another person before they were shot.
He said the man was pronounced dead on the spot by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. The woman was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
Detectives were seen concentrating on two vehicles: a red BMW X3 with the front door on the passenger side open, and a white Hyundai.
“We need to wake up and smell the coffee and stop living the way we live,” one person on the scene told Local 10 News reporter Annaliese Garcia.
Zabaleta confirmed that a man was being held for questioning, but it is unclear whether he was actually involved in the shooting.
