HPD looking for suspect who opened fire in N Houston, leaving 2 dead and 3 in hospital

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Police are looking for surveillance video and testify after a shooting left two dead and three others at the hospital in north Houston.

Houston police say it happened along East Whitney, where houses are hidden behind Kerr Park, not far from I-45.

When officers arrived, they found two dead and a third man, who was also shot, who is still holding. He was rushed to hospital.

Video shows a Buick with bullet holes in the windows on the spot.

The two others shot, a man and a woman in a white Mercedes, were able to drive to Whataburger, about half a mile away, to get help.

“We have some shell casings on site here in East Whitney … Their age is unknown at the moment. I mean, this scene just happened,” said Lieutenant Christopher Bruce. “Officers are now going down to talk to the victims to try and gather that information to see what the ages are.”

As for the shooter or shooters, no arrests were made. Police have not released any suspicious descriptions.

Police are looking for surveillance video in the area.

The Gun Violence Archive defines a mass shootout as a shooting in which a minimum of four victims are shot, either wounded or killed, with the exception of one gunman who may also have been killed or injured in the incident.
