How you get a chance now

If you’ve been waiting for COVID-19 vaccines to be easier to find in Michigan, now is your time.

This week, vaccine offerings have increased and appointments are available at clinics across the state, as well as through several walk-in clinics open to Michigan residents.

As of April 21, 45.6% of Michigan adults have received one dose of vaccine, while 31.5% have been fully vaccinated. About 63% of the over-65s are fully vaccinated.

Here are your best options for finding an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine now:

More and more walk-in vaccine clinics are opening, especially in Metro Detroit.

Residents of Wayne County have three walk-in clinics are open from Monday to Saturday, in Taylor, Belleville and Flat Rock. Residents and employees can still arrange a vaccination appointment with the Wayne County Health Department by calling 866-610-3885.

There are also drop-in clinics in Dearborn, St. Clair County, Calhoun County, Bay County, Lansing, Saginaw, and others, depending on the day. We follow the latest news in our live blog here.

The major pharmacy chains have wide availability statewide, including Metro Detroit.

Also check with your local independent pharmacies, such as Ray’s Drugs in Livonia, Clawson Care in Clawson or Royals Pharmacy in Ferndale. Many have vaccine supplies, some do walk-ins.

If you’re a patient with a hospital system, you can probably book an appointment now in your account, maybe MyChart.

But if you’re not, you can still make arrangements. Ascension Michigan offers appointments to all 16 residents and higher in Southfield. Henry Ford Health offers appointments to all residents 16 and older at their clinics in Detroit, Jackson, Wyandotte and Troy.

  • Beaumont will be offering walk-in vaccines on April 22 you do not have to be a patient for everyone aged 16 and older. (Beaumont Service Center, 26901 Beaumont Blvd. in Southfield 11 am-1pm)

Most local health departments have clinics open this week or next week, with appointments for residents and employees.
